Who We Are
and What We Do
Lifelong Learning at
St. Michael’s
The Continuing Education Division, established in 1986, collaborates with community partners and the University of St. Michael’s College to offer lifelong learning opportunities for personal and professional enrichment.
By developing a broad range of general interest programs in the liberal arts as well as Certificate programs in Youth Ministry Studies, Catechesis for children, Catholic Leadership, Service Provision to the Homeless and Corporate Social Responsibility, the Division has expanded considerably over the past twenty years to meet the needs and interests of a broad community.
Each year Continuing Education offers more than 75 short courses (typically 6 weeks long), Saturday workshops and monthly discussion seminars on a broad range of topics that include philosophy, theology, spirituality, history, fine art, music, literature and film.

Our Mission
The University of St. Michael’s College is a public Catholic Institution of higher learning federated with the University of Toronto. The Continuing Education Division shares the mission of the University, namely the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake. As a Catholic University, St. Michael’s is committed to the study of the Catholic tradition within a context of faith and to fostering the creative engagement of that tradition with the widest range of disciplines as well as with other traditions, both religious and secular.
