The Continuing Education Division, established in 1986, collaborates with the University of St. Michael’s College and community partners to offer lifelong learning opportunities for personal and professional enrichment.
We offer a broad range of general interest programs in the liberal arts. As well, we collaborate with external partners in offering certificate programs in Youth Ministry Studies, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Catholic Leadership, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Each year Continuing Education offers a wide variety of five-week courses and Saturday workshops on a broad range of topics that includes music, literature, art, philosophy, spirituality and religion.
Enjoy Learning Again
We invite you to participate in a variety of stimulating courses and workshops in 2012-2013 to be both educated and entertained. We know you’ll be glad you came.
In addition to the stresses and strains of daily life, we are bombarded with dire warnings regarding the physical consequences of just sitting in front of our computers and tv’s for long periods of time. According to neuroanatomists, our brains need stimulation and exercise too. Learning a new skill or engaging in new learning experiences can help you maintain, and even increase your intellectual skills. In addition to providing an opportunity for social engagement with your peers, our courses can help you get the most out of your social activities. Do you like the opera and ballet? Take courses on Wagner and Les Ballets Russes. Have you been meaning to read Dostoevsky but haven’t gotten around to it? Now’s your chance! Join other like-minded individuals who have that special book on their “must read” list and discover its essence in a congenial and no stress environment. Going to the AGO’s Renaissance exhibit in the spring of 2013? Attend our one-day pre-exhibit workshop and learn about the artists and their works. There is something for everyone. St. Michael’s College has been offering Continuing Education courses for 26 years. Our beautiful campus in the heart of the city provides an idyllic oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto. We hope that you will join us - we know our participants are glad they did.
